Our Beliefs

We believe the Scriptures , both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority of all Christian faith and life. (II Peter 1:21; II Tim. 3:16, 17)

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  (Genesis 1, 2; John 1:1-3, 14; Colossians 1:15-17)

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man. (John 1:1, 14)

  • Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of a virgin. (Luke 1:26-35)
  •  Jesus Christ, who live a perfect life, died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. (II Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 10:12-14.
  •  Jesus Christ arose bodily from the dead and ascended into Heaven. (1 Cor. 15:3,4)
  •  Jesus Christ, who is at the right hand of the Father, is our high priest and our advocate, and will someday come to earth the second time to reign in power and great glory. (Hebrews 10:12; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Timothy 2:5; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 4:14; 1 John 2:1)

We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, and indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for Godly living and service. (Acts 5:3,4; John 16:7-15; John 14:16, 17, 26; John 15:26)

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and is therefore lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. (Genesis 1:27; Genesis 3; Romans 5:12; Titus 3:5)

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus as Savior are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God. ( Rom. 5:9; Rom. 10:9; John 1:12; Titus 3:5)

We believe that the Lord’s Supper and Water Baptism are ordinances to be observed by the Church during this present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation. (Matthew 26:26-29;  Acts 2:41; Acts 8:26-40; Rom. 6:3-5; 1 Cor. 11:23-29)

We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head. (Ephesians 1:22-23)

We believe that only those who are thus members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church. (Acts 2:38-47)

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that the local church has the right, under Christ, to decided and govern its own affairs. (Colossians 1:18; Colossians 2:19)

We believe in the personal and premillennial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. (1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18; Titus 2:11-14)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; John 5:28-29)

We believe that marriage is an institution ordained by God and is between one man and one woman. It is not lawful for any man to have more than one wife, nor for any woman to have more than one husband, at the same time. It is the duty of Christians to marry in the Lord. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and a woman who are married to each other and that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. Therefore, any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexual conduct, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, any use of pornography, or any attempt to change one’s sex, is against the design of God and is therefore sin. (Genesis 2:18-25; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:22-33)
